I have 115 minutes on a game but the receipt says 2 hours
Will the refund work? I saw the time almost hit 2 hours so i decided to quit because i didn't like the game and while going for a refund it says 2 hours. I had 115 minutes. Does it round up? I'm a little worried cause it cost a lot.

Just do it.
If it works great if not you have your answer.

Worried about what? 115 minutes is still less than 120 minutes.

Cause it says 115 minutes on steam but on the steam receipt it says 2 hours. I'll be refunding anyway but i'd just like some piece of mind haha

Is It that Nickelodeon game because that clearly shows 1.9 hours on your profile

yep. its honestly a decent game but it kept on crashing and it pissed me off. half of my playtime was trying to fix it. I already own smash bros anyway ill probably give it a try some other day.

Yeah some different places I've noticed can round things up.

If it says in more definitive fashion 115 minutes then you can bet that's the more accurate one.

In any case, it doesn't really change anything. You apply for a refund anyway. If it's wrong, you don't get it, simples.

how long does it take steam to process a refund?
Cathulhu Oct 7, 2021 @ 9:24am
Usually a request is processed within a few hours.
If there is something that delays the refund request, then you are notified in the email you got when you sent the request.

gotta love how they take your money instantly and it takes for ever to get a refund. should be just as fast. maybe i should dispute the transaction as such with no phone support ect. otherwise the could rob you this is why i never use debit cards

Then maybe you should educate yourself on how money moves. Money transfers are not instant.
When you buy something Valve acts on good will on the promise of your payment processor to transfer the money.
If you had to wait for the money to actually arrive, it would take days to buy something.

days ya if its by mail but electronic no. the authorization shows up immediately. and the money transfers at midnight globally on the international date line

I've seen on my credit card days after a valid purchase it still being in a pending state. Sometimes it takes awhile. It only appears instantaneous to you when purchasing.

Actually, that instant payment you observe is an illusion. What happens, is the bank saying "Yeah, look, you'll get your money tomorow, I really REALLY promise" with Valve saying "ok, fine, here's the game".
Instant payments are an illusion. A trick. An optimization of the common case "you want to buy stuff and you want to buy it now, not wait for a day or a couple".

it shows up or you get some sort of notification when it is done for example i just got off the phone with another company that charged me on a subscription fee that was more than it should be within 30sec i had a notification show up the whole thing from start to finish was less than 2 min. as such i have something showing that i am getting said difference refunded in such little time

@ KritterKiller

Except that is not how it works.

Money is allocated, put on hold to pay for the game after checking you have sufficient funds BUT that does not mean Valve get the money instantly.

For example money is moved on banking days - Monday to Friday and within banking hours.

If you check your bank statement for any purchases done on a weekend they are allocated to either a Monday or a Tuesday, also if you make purchases outside of your banking hours the funds are processed the next day.

And finally after Valve have approved your refund your bank is the one who actually processes it to return to your account.
