Steam support taking too long to respond

My account was hacked/hijacked and I filed a report over 18 hours ago and I still haven't heard any kind of update. I am a bit stressed/worried.

How long does this usually take for steam support to respond to?

About 3-16 hours, but that is averages. It can take longer. About 18 hours ago was at 5:00pm at Valve, so close to the end of the business day. They likely have people working longer, but less of them.

I would suggest giving it 24-48 hours for a first response.

been a day now...I hope Steam can help. I haven't even had an initial reply. This is stressful.

Make sure your ticket is still open and then carry on waiting.

You need to have patience. Such things can actually be up to a few days.

That's understandable. Even though it's hard, stressing out won't make things move faster. And yes, I know that's easier said than done, but still.

If it's locked then no malicious activity can be conducted on it at least. Make sure you have proof of ownership at hand and even update your ticket to include that if you haven't done so already which could see the account returned in the first instance.
