How to contact Steam NOT via support
Trying to recover son's account, login says sent email as new device. No idea what that email was, we don't have access to it now. Attempting all the routes via support, all of which want to know what the email is/was to proceed. Even when it says enter user name or email it won't accept user name and asks for an email. Is there a direct email or phone number someone can share?

There is no way outside the support system.

Use the guide to recover the account. Ensure there is no Steam account logged in on the browser. If step 1 isn't possible, proceed from step 2. Also ensure you use the account name, not the profile name.
Various steps have you saying you don't have access anymore to stuff like phone number, email and such. At the end you'll file a ticket with Support, who will ask for proofs of ownerships.

Well the short answer is no.

It's very common for people to argue/feel their circumstances are extra special and warrant bypassing the support system and process. But you're hardly the first person to forget an email address.

No amount of frustration or stubbornness is going to get you what you want the way you want. So either follow the guide posted, or abandon the account. Those are your real choices.

You don't need to know the e-mail. Follow the guide and you can contact support with out logging into the account.

Support can only be reached through a support ticket.

Step 5: "I no longer have access to this email address"

Next, Steam will ask if you want to reset your password by sending verification code to your email address.

Assuming that the hijacker has changed your email address (which happens a lot), click on "I no longer have access to this email address".

You don't need to know the email. As said, there is a step that explicitly says that you don't have access to the email (which is the same as not knowing it).

I've tried that path and it asks what the email or phone number was/is.. there was no phone number and I don't know the email. I can not proceed without an email access or not I need to know what it was. Sigh Thanks anyway.

Read what everyone has said - note the bit in capitals.

This regularly comes up, you DO NOT need access to the email, phone or password currently tied to the hijacked account for this to work. Just pick the "I do not have access..." or a similar option when asked. JUST SCROLL DOWN.

Edit: The long version? The recovery process takes into account that details might have been changed by the hijacker or due to just the elapsed time. It's designed to allow recovery no matter which details have changed; if you can prove it yours then you can recover it.

You don't need either. There have been people who needed to enter a wrong one 3 times, so just try that.

Note I have the login, but can't get in without the code as new devices or been so long since logging in...
Having access to the email is irrelevant because I don't know what the email is anyway
On my account the account name and email are the same and this is NOT the user name I use to login

This is what I get at every attempt to contact STEAM ...

Start in a browser when signed out of any account. Follow the wizard precisely and then you'll eventually be able to submit a ticket.

Yes I'm logged out of other accounts, yes I'm doing this from a browser. I think I'll give up, don't think there's any paid games on there so I'll cut my losses. Thanks everyone anyway..
