Is this a scam?

I got sent a message the other day on discord, with this person saying that they accidentally reported my account and sent a screenshot of an email they got saying my account was going to be permanently deleted soon. They told me to add the "moderator" on discord to appeal the ban. The discord username of the moderator is "Spawn of Totoro#0783". Please let me know if this is a prank/ban.

This is a scam, Valve will never contact you through Discord. Accidental reports doesn't do anything, it's a scare tactic

this scam has been running for ages.

I want to assume you have 2FA enabled on your account, if you don't just effing enable 2FA now. Oh and By the way 2FA is not bulletproof, and no if you do loose your phone after enabling 2FA, your account is not lost, so it is worth the extra effort. Unless someone really really wants your account, like as in your account is worth thousands of dollars, 2FA will not keep those hackers out.
