So what do you do when a Steam Code on the back of a Steam Gift Card doesn't work?
Do you report it to Steam? Or take it back to the store? Have any of you had this fixed for you? Or am I basically out of luck here?

Thanks!

Back to the store with receipt to figure out how they erred, IME.

Yup,m as with ANY purchase no matter what for and where you got it, you must ALWAYS return any faulty goods to the place of purchase.

Obviously you will be required to offer proof of purchase (which may vary according to what country you live in).

Was it Gamestop by any chance?
The clerk probably wasn't trained on gift cards. They really need to remember to scan the barcode on theback to activate it.
Of course there's the strong possibility that you mistyped the revealed code. zero and oh and q look too similar sometimes.
Also they can't prove that you weren't successful in adding funds to your account. I wonder if they can scan the barcode and know for sure... or if they won't even think of it.

Well, they tend to do something, because this happens a fair amount on here. And it's rare that a store doesn't take it back or reissue.
