Or there may be another different way - have you considered using Playnite? It's a really simple, easy to use front end games launcher that'll accommodate Steam, GOG, Origina and a whole load of others so you can launch things in one place.
You can use UWPHook, its designed ot work with their games and its what I use to link all the gamepass games so I can launch them from Steam - https://briano.dev/UWPHook/
While that works, be aware that Steam Overlay does NOT work with Microsoft Store games added that way.
So no taking of screenshots or using the Steam chat during gameplay.
Sadly a technical restriction with how Microsoft has setup their games on their store.
Tbh the only Steam-exclusive feature I ever really wish could work on non-Steam games is play time, I like being able to track how many hours I've poured into a certain game lol
