Recording on OBS
Im not sure if this is the right place to post my discussion haha but I wanted to know if someone could help me pick settings for OBS and I guess if its not much of a bother then also Vegas Pro render settings for 1440p.

The reason why I ask on here rather than youtube and google is because I have tried like 6 different OBS settings and some just dont look that smooth, some put my gpu usage super high and i swear i can feel like my mouse lagging i guess, and fair bit of stutter in the game i've been wanting to record (apex legends), and also the one i wanted to try most was that little trick to make your video look like its at 120 fps or 240 fps which makes the recording look ABSOLUTELY smooth as all hell which i will like right here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBIMO02l_cI&t=163s&ab_channel=marrentm
When trying that and even lowering the settings i still get mad stutters while playing the game even just in firing range just to record a quick minute or two video to test the settings, i get heaps of stuttering and mouse lag or whatever that may be. i then rewatch it and 1 frame goes by every 15 seconds haha

anyways, my specs are

RTX 3070 Gigabyte Gaming OC
Ryzen 5 3600 (I have a 5600x arriving tomorrow)
16gb 3200mhz Ram,
A 750watt Gold plus PSU
And of course, a 1440p 170hz Monitor with my game capped at 169 fps.

Any settings people could recommend or just general tips or reasoning behind my problems would be great! thanks :D

You did not state whether it is OBS or OBS Studio you are using.

Couple of articles to get you started but there is no definitive answer as your PC specs can affect how OBS performs.

I use OBS Studio but I also have a Elgato HD60 Pro but I use that for console only.

Personally I record in flv at 1920 1080p at 60fps (less strain on the system) and upload to YouTube which processes it as HD and no have no issues with the quality of the videos.

I can post screenshots of the settings I use if they would be helpful.

Normally use imgbb for images but site currently having issues.

Settings are OBS Studio.

Please note: I record in flv due to smaller file size and uploads are quicker to YouTube.

Mmm thank you for the screenshot. To me its still not that great though, quality wise and the smoothness. I'm so stuck lol. I didnt think i would get 90-96% usage either on my GPU since all my game settings are at the lowest too on an RTX 3070 haha. Idk, im stuck.
Settings? As in playing the games or when recording?

Based on your specs there should be no reason to have games set at the lowest.

The only thing I is do is have all my games on HDD but I set the "record to" folder for OBS to my SSD as that way the HDD drive activity when playing a game does not interfere with OBS during recording.

yeah my ingame settings at lowest, that is because i play most games competitively. its best for visuals and clarity, and the higher the fps the better. but yeah so having all my settings on low means i dont have too much gpu usage so there should be heaps of room for OBS to use some to record, but as soon as i hit that record button my game then doesnt feel as smooth n it feels as though i have slight input lag and its noticeable. also the recording comes out not looking the greatest. doesnt look so smooth and it kind of looks like 50 fps, even though my OBS settings are set to 60 fps and 1440p
