how do you close a forum thread YOU created
as if the failure of a "block list" wasn't bad enough... is there a guide somewhere on how to delete a forum thread you created on a steam forum?

can't delete the thread by obvious means.

can't report your own posts to make a thread deletion request.

moderators aren't listed in clear sight anywhere...

i'm getting a little pissed at how ineptly designed the forum system for steam is now.

and no, simply deleting all the posts i made in a thread followed by unsubscribing from said thread is insufficient because...people can still find and post in said thread which typically leads to mocking, ridicule, and toxic behavior in general behind the OP's back.

and no, i'm not going to share a link to the thread in question here as that's just as bad as the above, if not worse (it's also an incredibly STUPID thing to even consider doing).

clearly the designers of the steam forums forgot or left out certain key features that some might consider a necessity.

You cannot self-lock threads. If someone is harassing you or engaging in toxic behaviour, you should report their posts.

thank you

Far as I know, if it haven't reach 7th post, you can delete it.

You can request for it to be lock, or deleted if truely wanted, by reporting your OP, but it will be whenever they get around to it. You can simply unsubscribe to it to not get notifications.

Also in order to be corrected, or criticize is due to either putting out misinformation.

For criticize, mocking, flaming is due to attacking someone, continually to put misinformation, or being very rude for no reason.

Then theres trolls either the person that started the discussion is the troll, or the person posting in the said discussion is the troll.

If someone harassing you, then you report them. Blocking them can somewhat hide their posts on the forums.

If a post is in violation of the rules then report those posts. However, using the post report system to request thread closure is abuse of the system.

While some additions or changes might be arguably nice to have, it works pretty well the way it is. Thing is, once you make a thread, it's not really "your's" anymore.

It belongs to the community here on Steam's forums. You can feel free to unsubscribe from any discussion at any time. No need to delete it, really.

I personally am glad that we can't delete threads after they reach 7 posts.

EDIT.............

nope! the OP of my thread has no flag button on it. it currently has 20 posts and counting.

thanks for the link to the page showing the moderators but it seems i can't message any of them unless they're on my friend list so... useless page of useless information.

requesting a BASIC internet forum function to be performed by someone who can do it after you yourself cannot manually do it yourself is an abuse of a forum system?!

♥♥♥♥ this. you people are insane! and this is the single worst, most ineptly designed forum i have EVER seen ANYWHERE on the internet!

Why, may I ask ? I can only assume, because of the quote you made of my post, it has to do with not being able to self delete threads after 7 posts.

EDIT............

Of course the trash can icon is not there when you hover over the OP.......because it has more than 7 posts. You can't delete it after the 7th post has been made.

Yes, you can. If their comments are open to the public. They are profiles just like any other Steam user. If they don't want to have their comments open, they don't have to. They are regular Steam users just like us, just moderators also.

If you can't comment on their profile, that's their choice to keep them friends only or private.
