Requires Billing Address for Purchase with Steam Wallet Funds
I am unable to purchase anything with my wallet funds without first inputting a billing address. I have never had to do this before. Is this a recent change and, if possible, how can I go back to just purchasing with wallet funds?

Valve does not need to know my adress nor my telphone nr. they are a company and should only care about getting my money in return for ♥♥♥♥ I want.

They are also required to collect taxes on purchases and send them to the correct state. They have to show that they are doing so and that it is going to the correct places as well. They can't do that if there is no address associated with an account.

Guess i'll just have to use rutracker from now on considering that it's impossible for me to make purchases here anymore.

You also might want to consider avoiding GOG, origin, Epic, Betheseda and all other clients too.
gog has not asked for my address ever and it is what i generally like to use as it requires no client and you can just download the game from the site with no added malware like drm

And how exactly do you buy your games on there? paypal? bank card? Both of those will supply your billing address to GOG.

I use anonymous payment methods such as paysafe card.

Then expect that to change at some point.

Why should that change?

Why would you even use anything else than paysafe and other prepaid cards like tha that ,when they're so easily available and privacy friendly? I mostly use my credit card only on sites that i feel like i can trust and on actual shops.

What's wrong with GOG?

Nothing wrong with using prepaid cards, but if you don’t trust a site to begin with, why buy from them at all? Sounds like a weird thing to do, trust a site enough to buy from them with a prepaid card but not enough to just use your credit card. Don’t think I’d bother using the site at all at that point.

Why are you asking me? I like GOG Personally I think it's the best online game store.

Well I value my privacy, but i also value being able to play men of war assault squad 2 multiplayer.

That constitutes as libel. :P

Morally, maybe/debatable? Legally, nah you need more of the boxes checked to get that to stick.
I'm pretty paranoid about leaving my address and/or phone number ANYWHERE (even irl lol) and I tend to buy steam wallet cards so that nosey parties who require a bank statement now and then don't see how much money I waste on digitial goods. So I may be a bit paranoid regarding some things even more now. I get the region hopping thing and all but I'm still not too comfortable about this. Couldn't they just restrict this to accounts that piqued their interest due to changing regions/changing national IPs kinda things :retro_questionMark: Because if, for example, one has always bought games from one country's IPs/with one currency, they haven't exactly given a pattern indicating such abuse, have they?
@Kijame
Same here too, i also buy steam wallet top-up cards since i don't have a credit card and they are more helpful for me so i can know how much i'm spending. But now that this has popped up *using in the UK*, i feel like Steam has robbed me of my money i currently have on here, that i can't spend without giving out personal infomation, i've used this service for 7 good years and they start to do this, i feel offended alongside stressed/paranoid.
