Uninstalled games still appear in my files?
I've uninstalled some games but I just noticed that the game folders still appear in my steamapps folder. Are they supposed to be there?

Some games uses launchers to download actual games. Steam only will uninstall the launcher part.

Yeah, it really does depend on the game in question. Some have launchers and parts are left. Some may have mods you've installed, and similar things occur.

I wouldn't worry about it unduly unless it bothers you with keeping things tidy and usable. As the files left (unless it's mods) are usually tiny. They can be deleted manually in any case.

Steam will uninstall files etc it knows about.

If a file is generated by the program after it has been launched such as a log file that will remain in the folder or you may have added a fix such as DSFix for Dark Souls Prepare to Die edition and that would also remain as it was not downloaded by Steam.

Also, feel free to take a look into these folders. And just like with other software, you can just manually remove leftovers after an incomplete deinstall.
Thanks for the answers!
