Is your password maybe too long?
If it's still too long, you simply do not need that length. The difference you're getting in permutations to crack is so far off as to be irrelevant.
The point is that when you're brute forcing (which is the only real point of long passwords), when you get to the limit on here, you're not gaining anything of real value by wanting it larger.
Simply because if you hit max on here, you're already at a length that would take forever to brute force.
THat's the point, you're not gaining anything of worth.
Proof of this? Simple - show me ANY post where someone has ever had a longish password on here that has been brute forced EVER. I'll wait.
By no means I'm saying you should have a simple password, but there's no benefit to having an (excessively) long one.
That makes small passwords passphrases.
If i look at mine i think they are stupid passwords. But not looking at them, they are difficult to get.
I've never seen anyone over the years post that they had a reasonable or normal password even and got brute forced.
Daft passwords, yes.
I'm just cautioning that people get too paranoid, I guess.
Well, and as i said, then would the guard code guessing start.
