Steam went back on a promise they made to me...
So, like many people, I was unhappy with cyberpunk 2077. Specifically performance wise. Feeling like it was unplayable, I asked steam for a refund. Unfortunately, since I'd racked up 7 hrs playing the game(most of which was spent trying to get the game to run optimally) I was unable to refund it normally. After speaking with a steam rep, they allowed me to refund it. Fast forward about a month. An update for cyberpunk that claimed to fix an issue with ryzen cpu's (my cpu time btw)is released. Curious, I ask the SAME steam rep if I can buy it again and return it if it still doesn't play well. The steam rep said yeah, another exception could be made as long as I didn't play for another 2 hours.(I'd post their exact words but I don't know where to find steam support convos) After playing an hour and a half over the course of 2 weeks, I felt the game was still unplayable and went to refund it. Of course the bot struck me down as the og game time was still in their system, so i went to a support rep. the support rep REFUSED to refund me, stating that what happened with my earlier refund was a one time thing even tho the other rep said the exact opposite. I've sent this rep a copy and paste of my convo with the other rep, so I'm hoping that convinces him that I wasn't lying. In case they refuse to budge, is there any way I can pursue a refund further. It would seriously blow to lose 60 dollars over false pretenses.

Wait til the game gets fixed properly which it will.

I know it will, but I'd rather spend my money on something else at the moment. Plus I find it really scummy that they did me dirty like that...
You attribute malice to what may have been incompetence just as well.

You actually agreed to the policy on checkout, so how are they doing you "dirty" by holding you to something that you agreed to ?

...did you not bother reading it? I was told that I'd be able to refund the game a second time. That's the entire reason I bought it again. By going back on their promise, they've sold me a product under false pretenses.

I'd want to say it's incompetance but after showing the support rep the recipt he closed the thread ...

How did you buy the game? Is it possible for you to do a chargeback or something?
Sorry, but we can't verify how much you played over the two hours after you claim that you asked the support rep if you could refund it again.

There is literally nothing we can do about it here. What do you expect to happen, since we are just regular users here in this forum and can't do anything about support decisions ?

That will result in an account suspension and paymethod being blacklisted.

Please, that's the worst thing to suggest in a case like this.

Through the steam wallet so I'm pretty sure they can just take my money and run...

Offer suggestions on different stratagies to acquire a refund?

If you already done the ticket to Steam support, there is no other way.

Keep in mind that you are promised nothing. From your own OP you say the Steam rep said an another exception could be made. That's not saying it will be done.
And to be fair, they could have totally denied you the first time, but they already made an exception for you. You don't seem to give them much credit for that :

I guess you're right about that, though the possibility of another refund is half the reason I bought the game. The policy appears to be that exceptions are strictly a ONE time thing, so telling me that I could get another exception is still a lie.

It was very generous of them to give me the first refund, i admit. However, they never should have told me I could've been elligible for another refund at all. That's what I'm upset over.
