My Steam Keeps Freezing when Open
Whenever I open steam on not safe mode and networking my computer freezes and doesn't appear in the task manager. Than I have to force shut down my pc with the power button. I uninstalled qbitturrent malwarebytes ccleaner and much more but still doesn't appear to be working on non safe mode. I've tried turning off windows security protection and firewall but still doesn't appear to be working.

Looks like you had a bit of software that has been known to cause issues with Steam, but you removed some of it. Let's try to be sure that there is not more that is left. If Steam works in safe mode with networking, but not in a regular boot of Windows, it seems there might be more left.

1. Take screenshots of all of the programs you have installed on your computer. Control panel then programs/programs and features. (Windows 7,8,8.1) or "apps" (Windows 10 click "Start" (Windows icon on bottom left))

2. Click Windows Start and type in msconfig and run that resulting process. Go to the services tab and check the box on bottom "Hide all Microsoft services". Take screenshots of all that is left.

3. Then go to the startup tab on top of that same window (Task Manager in W10). Expand the header on the left so we can best see the process name (small window, so do the best you can). Take screenshots of all that there also. Don't forget to scroll down if needed and get everything in the shots, please.

Post all the links to the above screenshots here, using a file hosting site such as imgur.com, which is free to use.

I will certainly try, thanks. Being here in this forum, the user is much more likely to get help from anyone that has suggestions, so hopefully, someone can help the OP if not me. :steamhappy:

Actually, those were ones that were good to cover as possibilities. The software that was mentioned was once listed on the support page :

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289

But they long ago removed the list, due to there just being too many possibilities, and because some of the software might not have been a problem any longer. Here is the old page :

I'll take a look at that as well

The first one that I see that has been an issue before in threads where I was trying to help others is AMD External Events Utility in msconfig. Uncheck that one.

Some of those programs could also be disabled to allow your PC to boot cleaner and much faster. Such as Wondershare, for example.

THX Service. What is this for ? Looks like some kind of audio service.

If it installs any kind of audio drivers for other hardware you are using, that might be causing an audio driver conflict and could POSSIBLY be related to the PC freezing up.

Consider carefully disabling any third party programs like this, and then trying again.

Be VERY careful what you disable here. Most of that in msconfig in your shots can be disabled either one at a time, or in groups, since you hid all Microsoft services as of course, you do not want to disable any of those.

Research what a service or process does before disabling it. Then, you must restart your PC and try to use Steam again.

I used to have BitTorrent/uTorrent (all clients), CCleaner, and Hamachi on that old list you sent. I uninstalled them tho but still no fix

Yes, I saw that, and those were definitely good to uninstall for now. I would have suggested the same.

It's probably not the problem here, or part of it, but when you are troubleshooting a problem like this, temporarily disabling processes or programs from starting, if only until we find the source of the problem, is still something that should be considered.

You can do them one at a time, or in groups, then restart your PC and test Steam again.

I will at some point also suggest an OS scan since you said you have been doing forced shutdowns, so we need to make sure your OS is in good health also.

I suspect it is driver related or software related, since you said Steam works in safe mode with networking.
