Warning of account suspension via Discord and acting Steam Support agent on Discord
Just a few moments ago I received a friend request from someone on Discord which I at first accepted (I have a lot of friends on Discord) to find out who it was. They immediately asked if 'this' - referencing a link to my Steam account - was my Steam account. Already, this looked sketchy and I refused to even open the link despite it having my profile picture.

They further went on to say they were sorry but accidentally reported me on Steam for stealing their money when they meant to report someone else. I was rather confused at how they even found my account but I told them to just clarify with Steam Support that they got the wrong profile. He then said support wasn't listening to him before sending the Discord tag of someone he said was a Steam support agent. He told me to add the person and explain or else my account would be permanently suspended in 5 hours. At this point, I blocked the guy and obviously didn't add whoever his friend was.

Despite being pretty much certain about the lack of truth or sense in what this guy was saying, I was unsure whether to report him or not here because Discord is separate from Steam. Otherwise, I just wanted to put it out there in case anyone else is experiencing a similar issue.

Oh, good to know I wasn't the only one then. It definitely felt odd in totality. One of my main concerns is how they found my Discord in the first place. Unless I have it posted somewhere on Steam I forgot about

Even if that BS was true, it wasn't, Valve would investigate and learn you had stole that guys money. Not only that but you'd had 0 contact with that user meaning it was a false report. Report both profiles used in the attempted scam and block them
