There's a short handshake window of a couple of seconds between the vendor and the bank. It's deliberately short for security reasons. The problem is it makes it easier to fail.
So, you will either be left with a situation where the money is "set aside" (unable to be used but it hasn't actually been used), and the bank/provider end will wait to see if a later completion comes through at end of day (normally the wee hours of the morning). In which case, it just corrects itself - you get the games and the money gets properly deducted.
Or if it never gets the completion, the money remains set aside for up to 3 working days (normally) upon which time it simply is free to be used again. You can ring up your card provider and ask them to check and if the staff is good enough they can see the error and free up the funds manually.
Please read it again if you don't grasp it. The money is "set aside" and not used. there will be one of two outcomes and you can choose to contact them to find out.
Paysafe does tend to suffer from these problems as I've been seeing it a lot for years on here.
At least when this happens with a bank related debit card, say, you get a better chance of having decent staff able to restore the funds instantly.
Just something to bear in mind.
Unfortunately, you can't buy digital gift cards with money from your Steam wallet
That's why I always use Paysafe Cards to buy digital gift cards for my Steam friends.
Today I bought 2 gift cards for 2 different friends and now I have the same problem as kmomo1909. I guess I have to wait now
As I've saiud already, when you make ANY online purchase the same banking procedures are used. The vendor (Valve in this case) contacts the banking payments processor. There's a short window for the handshake to go through, and if it fails, then the vendor is only told certain information. This is deliberate for security.
So Valve have bugger all control over this. If it fails or there's some delay, they are told and so are you.
It remains the problem with the PROVIDER.
And this is why I always recommend trying to use either banks or first party providers like banks and their cards as these are both more realiable and easier to resolve.
