My morrowind hours went from 80hrs down to 4 minutes??
I was playing offline the last two weeks and got up to 80 something hours. I finally got internet access and now my time is at four minutes. What the heck happened??

offline doesn't count gametime.

That's insane. Especially for offline games!

Also - it was calculating it while it was offline. Keeping track. Then when I connected to the internet it erased it. Where is the logic in that?

so play a game, set your pc time to 2030, it'll count 10 years of gametime, then go online? that's the logic in that. when you're offline you're not connected to a server to verify that gametime.

NEVER rely on steam game time. It's always been buggy not least of which because of the online/offline issues.

I have many games that I've bunged hundreds of hours into and they show less than a hundred. Conversely I have loads of "bundle" games that I've tried once just to se if they work or what they're about, then never opened them again, and yet hey have playtime in the hours.

So yeah, it's never going to be reliable.

a lot of indie games don't close properly and stay open until you restart your PC, you'll never have more gametime than you should, they retroactively fixed all bugs that cause more gametime.

Maybe they have fixed it, but I never gave a time did I?

Those were all games that were done before I came back this February, so about 5 years ago.
