"An issue with your computer is blocking the VAC system"
I have looked into this for a bit now. Whenever I join a source server, I get the "An issue with your computer is blocking the VAC system" error.

According to what I have seen, Cheat Engine can cause this error. I was having fun in Plague inc giving myself so much DNA. Ever since that I have been getting the error. Although in L4D2, I get a different error "client timed out". Cheat Engine or any other software listed here are not opened when trying to join the server.

It was only singleplayer. As far as I know, cheating in local games is okay.

Apparently, Kurumi did not get the memo. :P

Also, Cheat Engine is not even a bad program to have on your computer, since it has a very large amount of good and valid uses.
I suggest Kurumi do better research in the future.

That being said, I'm not sure what the actual problem is, since VAC only complains if Cheat Engine is actually loaded.
That's the problem, I don't have it open. I guess I have a different problem?

There can be other software that does not get along with VAC and Steam in general :

It could also be a network or network hardware issue. Are you trying to play wireless while trying to troubleshoot this ?

You should not be if you are. Use ethernet only to the source unit (modem) and test it in casual so you don't get cooldowns due to the error.
