well could be anything, outdated BIOS, outdated Drivers, antivirus which were installed already, other apps already installed
try to disable all AMD services which have something to do with Storage (like it said int he Error) and also turn off autostart
Thanks for the reply.
Getting back into the world of gaming on PCs etc. How do I go about disabling the AMD stuff?

https://winaero.com/disable-service-windows-10/ (not really recommended when you are not sure what you are doing)
can you tell if there is like Norton or McAfee installed?
https://www.amd.com/en/technologies/store-mi
I have Norton 360 installed.
Tried installing it. It couldn't find anything compatible. Thanks though.
is Windows Defener also enabled (Norton should disable it) https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/turn-off-antivirus-protection-in-windows-security-99e6004f-c54c-8509-773c-a4d776b77960
If it is enabled, disable it.
Otherwise (possible) solutions have been posted, either you wait for the Support of the Website to help you with the Problem or you troubleshoot yourself which can take quite some Time.
Yeah it's turned off.
Annoying as hell like.
Thanks for you help though :)
Honestly this is all you need to know.
Looks like the errors are somehow caused by a combination of apparently "launching clients that use chromium embedded framework / webtech in them" and this... weird new AMD system no one asked for. xD
Go to task manager, startup. Make sure StoreMI doesn't boot. (or anything related that uses this weird virtual SSD system)
look in your list of services and prevent it from auto starting.
you may need to check Scheduled Tasks as well to see if it autostarts using that windows feature.
If that isn't enough to get rid of it, you may need to disable (stop using) and uninstall the whole storemi thing. (and manually uninstalled the AHCI driver from device manager. For now I suggest try to turn things off and prevent it from booting so that you ... can access weird webapp based software with weird scripts. xD
You may also want to report the issue to AMD.
Edit: https://www.amd.com/system/files/documents/storemi-quick-start-guide.pdf
might help to have a look at the manual
Hey hey,
That's the thing. StoreMI isn't even installed on the pc? The drivers that I have updated / been installed have either been done through Device Manager or the NVidia Graphics Card software that came pre-installed on the PC.
Since posting in this thread I have wiped the PC and reinstalled windows. I have only used Device Manager to update all the drivers this time round... see if that makes a difference? I have managed to boot up some games without it crashing... heading to bed now. Hoping it doesn't decide to die on me again tomorrow. ;_;
Side note - StoreMI wasn't installed on my PC before I formatted it either... :/
Thank you :)
Is your laptop using the dedicated gpu or the onboard integrated.
Check device manager>display adapter whats listed there as your default display adapter?
Hey,
It's a PC not a Laptop (the side is just called Laptops Direct).
Errors - isn't the 'who crashed' reports the same thing?
Display - NVidia GeForce RTX 2060 is listed.
Cheers
remove all other things that is not needed
printer, controller, and so on
and still your job to check own Support place Brand pc support site or if custom build pc then its Brand Mortherboard support site.
dont foreget keyboard driver or Monitor whatever you have that you can check up on.
Dont OC , you try to have a stable pc first with Original drivers from suppport places
then all chipset driver and Bios is update , actual most newer pc do this automatic today.
they all seem to have Brand app name that can check this.
do try Iobits driver boost last.
this is not about own support place have old driver they seem to focus on stability , and not newest optimized drivers today , and thats why iobit can find own thirdpart device in our pc that has newer driver. ( even that can help, but it could also get into trouble with newest driver.
gl with it.
( do note we all assume not a hardware issue, but software driver only ) but a driver cant work as intended if hardware cause it anyway. ( even inside a monitor is software only factory has acces to , ( not all know this ) we seen it as hardware issue only, but its factory internal software that cause this. )
so dont think its that simple software and hardware have to work together. in its driver.
do not MS dont make drivers ( not for other Brands product ) , and this is the case where things somehow cause this or multi issue lead to BSOD
thay only test for kernal crash issue ( cough cough ) point is they dont test if it even work
its sould not happend but i bet you will agree on to many combinations and you somehow found a issue.
it is, but since people don't read posts nowadays and just go ahead and post anyway..
anyway did it crash today?
Afternoon,
So far so good. Formatting the whole thing has fixed it I think? Booted up a few games today and it seems to be working fine.
Here's hoping it stays like this!
Cheers for your help again!
