Profanity filter always on, can't disable
I went to https://store.steampowered.com/account/preferences and set it to never filter anything, I have no custom words, etc. However in both the forums and profiles profanity is still filtered with hearts. I've tried turning it on then off again. I've tried it both in a browser and with the client.

i have this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing turn on and when i go in the setting and i disable it dosent turn off.
all the section of steam are censored
someone know why?

The toggle is not for the forums.

This is what I did specifically...

https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/12/4420805388060811363/#c4420805388065290437

And the only things filtered are blacklisted links and hard coded filtered words like, free and skins. Put the 2 words together and they are filtered no matter what. And websites added to the filter.

I don't see any hearts in your post.

It's working as it should be. You can turn the filter off for chat, not the forums or profiles. Read the announcement again.

Well that's stupid. I should be able to disable it everywhere; I'm not a child.

Yet many, many users are.

This is why that is the way it is.

I'm genuinely surprised it exists at all as a feature.

Correct. There are many others who aren't children and don't want censorship everywhere and this affects them too.

Correct. And there many others who aren't children and don't want to see everyone's edgy pornographic and cuss filled responses.

Absolutely, which is why you keep the filter turned on. Everyone wins!

Filter is on... for chat.
And now we need the option to turn it off for profiles and forums.

Valve disabled it for the forums again when they made that blog post. They had enabled and disabled it a few times on the forums the past month+.

Once more for the guy in the back:

no one needs to see your swearing and spew, but you.

You're still beating your head against the brick wall and manage to completely ignore the fact you're not the only type of person on the platform and Valve has to cover their legal buttcheeks, not appease some whackjobs who are obsessed with slinging swear words at every corner.
