i'm no expert but whats bad packets and CRC error and how do I check it?
also i dont think its the ISP, as I said the lag spikes only happens when I open a steam game that has online/multiplayer feature. but as soon as I close the game, ping immediately goes back to normal (constant 1-5ms)
try speedtest google it.
plenty of help in steam about network,
but thats why i said talk with ISP, it can be to complicated for some and other what to deal with it themself.
- Ensure you're not using weird 3rd party software that hooks into things, or causing connections issues.
- Modem / Router need a reboot.
- If you did anything in the Modem / Router settings, check your work to ensure you're not blocking things.
- If connecting to private VPN / DNS networks, they might be causing you this problem. Either set back to default, or use open DNS network like google, or cloud flare.
- Can try flushing your network, open command promt as admin, and give this a try.
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset

If not working still try these in order, then restart, and test.
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew
- If you're hardware suddenly has spike in usage, example like HDD with bad / slow reads when needed could cause sync issue where get a spike in connection, if game not able to adjust back correctly may need to restart app / game, or rejoin session to correct the issue.

Reduce steam eettings. plenty of them at steam menu settings.
read all of them , pretty much self explaned,
Hmm interesting, i have tried different networks and still get same issue. So odd. Would love to get a full fix but so little online about what might be the issue
ps.
your ISP is actual your best choise then so many other between isp and into steam and back from steam to isp and then you. ( you have ownISP and Steamsupport and maybe that game server game you can contact, rest is out of your hands, and you are not custommer at ISP partner . if you have more jumps you go through.
Not only will they will be able to explain some of the things to you and how it affects you, but they can see what's happening too.
Assuming you have decent ISPs, that is.
I am having the exact same problem right now.
