How can I gift a game I already own to a friend?

This is ridiculous. Is there seriously no way to gift a game to a friend if I already own it? I am trying to gift the Sega Genesis Classics Collection to a friend so we can play together, but the store page has no link to do so, since I already own the game. Hilariously, however, there is a random line of text halfway down the store page that says "Buy this game as a gift for a friend" but this isn't clickable, nor is there a link anywhere nearby. Great, thanks Steam, I would love to buy this game as a gift for a friend, but you won't let me.

Since Steam has zero options for contacting them and I can't find any way to make a ticket, does anyone know how on Earth I perform the basic task of gifting someone a game I have the audacity to own myself?

You can't gift games you already own from your library. That never was possible.
You also can't gift personalized bundles.

You can gift a digital Steam wallet card so your friend can buy the collection for themself.

What the hell. That is absolutely nuts. By the way, I don't mean gifting someone the exact copy I have... I mean buying a new copy of course.

So I can buy a game, enjoy it, decide I should buy this for a friend... but can't? Why would I ever gift a friend a game I've never played myself?

Talk to the developer, that bundle is personalized and you can't buy a personalized bundle for another user. It tells you in checkout

Because the contents of SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics are personalized for your account, it cannot be purchased as a gift.

You can not gift personalized bundles.

Oh ok, thank you. It would be nice if that information was available anywhere other than checkout, since I can't access checkout now that I own the game. So I suppose there's no way I can gift them a "personalized bundle"? I can't just gift them all the parts? I've just gotta send them money or something?

Yeah... That is a tailored bundle. You can add each game individually to your cart and try to gift it.

Of course you can gift games to your friend , also games you already have.
Your problem most likely is another. My guess is that you have tried gifting something that have a particularly low price / an offer that were price-dependent on ownership of something..

If you go to the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics page :

and then 'hover mouse' over the word Bundle above the Add to Cart that you can not click then you will see that there is a pop up text that explains..
On this case I would say that there ought to have been a gift option but that must depend on the way that the page views purchaser account for adding discount and do not allow for gifting as should...

If you want to buy the bundle as a gift then make a second 'Dummy' Steam account or log out and see if you can buy and gift as logged out !
(You should be able to make a 'Dummy' account with any Steam key games that you can get many places at 'bundle sellers - you can even get a couple of keys free from me if necessary!) (NO THAT IS NOT A GENERAL OFFER !!!)

Ah ok, that makes (some) sense! I wasn't thinking about the fact that the games are sold individually (I had bought it myself as a complete bundle all at once so I was forgetting that fact).

I'll probably have to figure out a way to do it that way.

Have you tried different browsers to see if that gives you a different experience ?

You do not mention 'source' of screenshot , Steam client or browser !
Try a browser , and if using a browser then try a different one ! ,

Other than that then there could be an un-documented Steam problem , I mean if the picture is from your Steam Client
