I'm all done. While it does allow me to delete the card information, I have no interest in adding the same damn card again, then waiting for verification.
This interface has become more hassle than it's worth. Straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. I'll keep using what I have, no choice in the matter but I'll be buying my games elsewhere from now on. Goodbye Steam store, I used to be quite fond of you but no more.
As I said, I've had some right bloody troubles with things like this, some bloody unreasonable.
Ultimately, if it's going to be difficult through no fault of your own to pay, then why should you?
So hopefully after the end of the month the card still works. I must agree this is an issue that should be fixed since the card is the same and reentering the same info will trigger a cool down.
I just got lucky and the old ccv code worked on here as long as it did. Everywhere else I had to change the ccv code and expiration date before those sites would accept the card.
Not sure why I expected anything more.
No skin off my nose... Valve will just never see another penny from me. This seems to be a typical response to most issues I've ever brought to their attention so, I am done with it.
I was trying to update the credit card for my Final Fantasy XIV subscription and I had to go MogStation (their official website) in order to get a Steam purchase prompt (similar to when you buy a new game for example). From this dialog, I could select the option "Save my payment method to make future purchases quicker" (or something close to that), and then I could get my payment method saved in my Account Details section.
I hope this can be valid for a usual game purchase and not only for a subscription coming from an external website.
