Inherited purchased software. Can I inherit the games from my father, who passed away?
If I were to die, could my children legally gain ownership of the games I purchase online? How would that be accomplished, if possible?

leave a Will with your Steam name and Password in it.. and with directions that your account is to be left to whoever you want.

If your father didn't leave a Will, or his password and login name are not known to your family. Then it can be assumed he didn't want you to inherit his account and games.

But anyways, Valve will not transfer any games to a new account or whatever, you'd literally have to use your father's account or whatever.

Better is probably just to Family Share your Library with whoever you want to "inherit" your account before you die. Then they can play your games!

Oh, I can family share my account?
If I did that, can they also play the games I have purchased? That does not sound right. We could all be playing the games with only one purchase. Can you explain any of this?

The catch is only 1 person can use the library at a time. This means that if your son is playing any game in your library, and you log in and start playing a different game, it will kick them off unless they buy the game themselves.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you for clarifying this detail.

To go along with bequeathed account details in the first post, also include all proof of ownership.
