Steam offline when I have internet?
I have seen the other posts before, but this one is different. My steam says its offline, but when I enter in offline mode and logout again it magically lets me go into online mode. It wastes a bunch of time and is inconvenient tho, so if anyone knows how to fix this it would be much appreciated

That sounds like an odd one. I admit I'm guessing here, but I would immediately start by suspecting you have some form of security software or crapware on your system doing something awry.

So try this - reboot Windows into Safe Mode WITH networking, and once up, don't load up anything else except Steam. Tell us what happens.

You can try "steam flush cmd" to return to steam Original settings ( default )
but sametime ruleout you are a windows7 user, just so you dont get trough hell here.
if you have read other post im sure offline and Friends & chat can be seen also as offline, depend on how bad you want to try explan it or mix them up.
i / we did not say you did that, but other have done that in old post.

then you most block time server, they are more acurated then own settings,
time server i know is run by atom clock fron switch i think it was.
and is a part of globsl server comunication as service so logs is as deadone as possible.

this dont ruleout own OC or other issue a pc can have. but it will still not beat a time server.
no pc can claim same accurate as that atom clock and the server that provide it.
and that info you had on topic has change then pc got global network

check date and clock in controll panel
time.windows.com or other

Im not refering the the time sync with the NTP server. That syncs GMT works great.

its the auto "timezone" setting. that relys on "location" services (which many people disable). So at windows install it defaults to -8GMT. If the timezone is incorrect and your clock looks right then your clock is off by however invorrect the timezone setting is

Well, that largely rules out any software on your system interfering.

I'd next start looking at your router. When did you last update the formware? When did you last cold reboot it (completely unplugging the power and leaving it for 10 minutes or so before powering up again)? Have you tried cable connection versus wifi?

Please post results to each question if you can.

Steam Unable to connect to the network first launch right ?
Solution
1. From your Steam Client, open the Settings panel by selecting "Steam > Settings" from the top left client menu.
2. In the Settings panel, select the Downloads tab and you'll find the "Clear Download Cache" button at the bottom.
3. Then select "OK" to confirm and acknowledge that you'll need to login to Steam again.

By this, the problem can be solved. I don't even know why this happened. Many have had it for almost a week. But nothing progressed except to find a way for myself

Well, that may be where you should start looking then.

When you get ANY weird internet issues, one of your first things you do should be to cold reboot your router and check if there's any firmware upgrades as a matter of course, as well as doing all the boring stuff like checking your cables are OK and not twisted around other power cables (for example).

When you do all this boring stuff, it's simple process of elimination - you can count those factors out.
