Friends Network Unreachable [Solved]
Hello out there,

since some days, perhaps a week, I cannot connect within Steam program to friends network (Windows).

This is weird, because in Miranda IM it DOES connect to my Steam Friends. There, I do see my friends online.

I have checked my network logs to see wheather there's something blocked, but it isn't. All Steam network communication seems to be just fine.

Is anybody else having an issue like that?

Are some specific Steam servers down for longer?

Edit: Solved, see here:

Thank you very much! Finally, I knew the source of the problem -- and could finally solve it by importing manually the certificates. The following manual is for Sophos, but they're also working with Windows 7 (if you install them in the right place):

My friends list is working now.
how do i do this?
Download the certificates, then import them by installing them. Use certmgr.msc for checking correct installation and make sure the old "R3" will be deleted. Locate all downloaded certificates and import the new ones on the same place. Additionally, there's a root certificate update from Microsoft which can be downloaded here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/de-de/security/trusted-root/release-notes

Just download the latest one (today it's March 3rd) and install it via right click.

I have no idea how to install this...

It is a .pem file with no known program to open it on my computer. Can you help a brother out and explain it like I am five? It'd be greatly appreciated!
You need to download the .DER files, not the .PEM ones. Save them, open them, check their names when they were issued for & from. In CERTMGR.MSC (just use WIN+R and run it) locate the old one which has been expired, delete it and install the new one in exactly the same location where the old one was.

For additional updates on recent certificates, go to:

https://aka.ms/CTLDownload

You will get the AUTHROOTSTL.CAB file which you can open with a standard packer like WinRAR or 7-Zip. Extract the .STL file and import it with automatic location management. That's it.

HTH
