Error -101, can't connect to Steam/Discord/Origin

Essentially anything and everything that's not a browser will not connect. Issue randomly started 2-3 days ago. Tried flushing dns, the basics, and nothing.

Feel free to do anything you want, dont get me wrong here, but other network near you could be even better then whatever it is you go through at UNI. as fare as i know no win10 yet had any issue with direct network connection to a ISP ( uni ) can have many fiber connection though other hardware gear, and that can be the issue here. ( still the 2-3 days ago from 28 to 30 that the cerfiticates issue time stamp issue. before we notice it. )

delete cache steam :) selecting "Steam > Settings" from the top left client menu. In the Settings panel, select the Downloads tab and you'll find the "Clear Download Cache" button at the bottom. Then select "OK" to confirm and acknowledge that you'll need to login to Steam again.

Done that yeah, and also I checked and I can download games on Steam and what not, it is technically online, just throwing error -101 "not connected to the internet" whenever I try to browse anything on the app.

I am having the same issue. When I try to launch Steam app, it gives me not connected to internet....and closes the window.

I hope you did read hes at UNI and cant reboot what is not ( owned ) or is hes or get past what once worked i think. thats why test client at other network can be a very good idea. or ask that IT Department , if something has change.

hes win10 most dont have any issue with certificate and in top of this 3 apps that has nothing to do with each other. ( that look like own uni issue or now blocking it.

last rare issue , MSi board or Levono , could have install or update your network driver , and that way effect network , cant see anything else that might cause this.

Okay, anyone else with this issue: if you have Kaspersky, uninstall it. Don't turn it off, fully uninstall it. That's what it was for me, it went as far as blocking windows updates for some god forsaken reason.

Better than that, you can easily find out if security software or antivirus suites of any kind are the problem by doing this (this is for future readers here mind, not having a go at you or anything).

Start Windows in Safe Mode WITH netowrking and only run Steam. If it connects and everything's rosy then you can rest assured it is some software on your system such as your antivirus causing issues.
