Launch game without admin password?
(Repost, orogonal was remove for no reason) Whenever I try to launch Facerig it says "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device" and says Steam Client service and then and then it says I need to put the admin username and password. How do you launch a game without this? Are there ways to bypass this without admin control?

Is that on Linux or something (android maybe)? it doesn't sound like Windows.
FaceRig is not a game. It's a tool.
I assume changes to your device means 'turning camera on' and maybe creating a file to save settings in?
I'm not sure why that would require higher previlage levels. It sounds suspicious, but then again I don't own facerig, so no clue..

Normally you can launch any game without admin passwords or something. You only need to log into Steam.

I don't know "Facerig" specifically, but since games don't need admin privileges, this is generally just something they want to do to complete the installation. On future launches, admin won't be required.

I looked a bit into it, it seems the application (software) FaceRig requires Visual C++ Redistribution Package (at least 2010) installed on the system.
You can get the latest version from Microsoft's website.
It comes with setup files on Steam for this, and giving admin previlages allows it to install these files in Windows/System32. It's only needed for that.

(I highly recommend getting the latest from Microsoft, since it saves updating)

UAC prompts can be disabled but as you were told in your last post, it's a Windows account permission setting.

Your last post was not removed at all, and you were answered.

Whether it's done from Microsoft or Via Steam when installing the game OP will still need to provide Administrator credentials. They've all been told this in there other thread.

OP You need to have the Administrator either install it separately or provide permission to install it via Steam. There is NO WAY to play the game without it installed. If it could be played without it the game wouldn't be asking to install it.

Don't create a new thread. Accept the answer it will not change.

idk why I needed to be replied to, as I never stated that they don't.
All I did was look up the reasoon why it was required to give admin permission for installing this. It is partly what OP wanted to know, as it gives an indication of whether or not there are ways to bypass this.
And the answer to that is...........
well, to be honest it can be bypassed, but its difficult and requires then manually pasting DLLs into SysWOW64 and System32. Using the mouse to access these locations will also prompt you need to be admin to access them. You can do it with cmd, but its not simple. It would also require you to extract the setup file, etc. Using Microsoft's original method (the setup) is better. Microsoft made the setup in a way, it asking for admin's permissions, and makes users ask for permission from their admin when opening the system locations for reasons. So I'm against it. Unless you know exactly what you're doing and where things can go wrong and how I don't recommend it. Since you probably didn't know you could manually install the files in the first place, you probably don't have the required knowledge.

Geniunely, if you mess up, you can break stuff. Though its very difficult nowadays, you can still.. >.>; break stuff.
Syswow and system look kinda similar and have similar looking files, but they're very different just to name an example. If you move the wrong file in the wrong location, things won't look pretty. If you then forget what you moved in which directory......and delete stuff you thought you placed in, well... uh... yeah. (never mind the part where you can accidentally delete more than just one file)

About this.
If you look at OP's question, you'll notice he mentioned FaceRig (a tool), but asks about launching games. I think I answered that as well.
Most games don't ask for that and just work. Users should have no issues with them. So it will or would change if people were read OPs post more carefully.
Anyway I think I covered every topic this Thread.

Edit: I looked at the other thread.
It's possible that OPs computer was handed down, passed on, second hand, etc.
He could be the owner but still in (non-admin) usermode, because the original owner locked their main account with a password or something. Heck, idk the circumstances. But there is the internet--
there are ways to turn the account previlages up.

Also in the other thread, OP said "the game", here OP said "a game" in the question on how to launch. Hm.... it's a minor difference but it makes the topic's question different, since its no longer about facerig but rather any game.
