Atlanta Steam status
Just curious why during down times and bugs Atlanta is always last on steams list for servers to bring back up

What data are you using to come to that conclusion? Because I can imagine you making some assumptions. But I don't imagine you really have insights into global server status or that you're part of a community that actively tracks server uptime/downtime in every region.
https://steamstat.us/ well I use this every time it goes down. Atlanta always is the last to come back up -.-

I might guess they do rolling restarts, and they don't do them in random order each time so if your data is accurate then Atlanta must be the last server in the list. Either that's how it's scripted, or their processes specifically state what order to do restarts in.

Or

Valve hates Atlanta.

Yeah what Brockenstein says basically.

Servers are networked, obviously so there WILL be servers that are last on the chain. That is unavoidable.

You have a grid of servers with A, B, C and D in one row, and E, F, G, and H on the next row and they're connected to each of their neighbouring ones. G is therefore going to be one of the last ones to get propagation. I mean assuming the propagation starts at A.

You can get some sort of clue of how it's going on by doing a simple traceroute. If there's a large number of hops, that'd make things worse too.
