Steam forum error code -118 or vpn in china
I cannot view the steam forums on my steam client in China without activating my vpn. I would get a error code -118. Anyone has a fix or this is normal for China?

Yes, that is normal. The goverment of China blocked all community servers of Steam.

there maybe other similar websites.
acording to it, steamcommunity.com is blocked. x.x;

sorry to hear you have to go through the trouble of establishing a VPN connection just to post.

The irony is you can browse and buy majority of the games alright in China, but you are blocked from viewing or participating in the community discussions on those games....

Which is intentional. Your government has no issues with you buying games but accessing the community and write or read things they deem worrying.
