Reporting a scammer is not generating a support ticket
Hey guys,

I recently got scammed and had items for well over €200 stolen from my inventory (Please, save me the links to "no return policies") and reported the user. The trouble is that when I go to Support>View my Steam Support help requests, there is nothing there. I tried re-submitting the report, but nothing comes up even then. Is there something I'm not doing right?

Such reports are made via the user's profile. Nothing is supposed to show up in your steam support requests.

Steam Support relies on several data points to arrive at a decision to ban or lock an account. You will be notified if the support decides to take actions based on the reports made. Other than that no notification.

You wont get a response. I know i dont and ive reported many scammers or porn profiles. Well, i got about two responses in my time on Steam, but it doesnt look like report responses are a thing.

You may get a message that says something like this, if any action is taken, of course. Note you looking like you gave your items away is exactly that.....looking as if you gave them away. Just saying........

"We've taken action on multiple profile reports you submitted
Profile reports that you've submitted have been reviewed and action has been taken against the users. Thank you for helping to make the Steam Community a better place.

Please visit our Community Rules and Guidelines Article for more information on how we moderate Steam."

Please do the following:

Go to the profile of the offending user
Click the 'More' drop-down located at the top right of the page
Choose 'Report Violation'
Select the violation (example, 'Attempted Trade Scam') and hit 'Submit Report'

If a user you've reported for scamming has had action taken on their account, you'll be notified with a message in Steam. Please note that reporting a Steam user via their profile does not create a Steam support help request.
