Refusing to process a refund...
Played a game for around an hour, bought it only a day or so before. So it's still valid for a refund.

Usually when I refund a game, I get an email notification from Steam within hrs that the request has been received, then a decision within a day after that.

This time, I've received nothing. It's been days, no response.

One thing to consider, I've recently switched to new numbers on (the same type) of credit card. In fact when I purchased this game, Steam apparently did the "$1 test purchase" thing that companies often do on a new card.

Also both that $1 test, and the game itself, are still 'Pending' on my Discover dashboard. (Purchase and $1 test transfer both happened Mon Sept 21st)

Seems like a long time to still be pending on my credit card dashboard... I wonder if something goofy is going on?

ps. yes, I've used the card for other purchases already, it's been activated, etc.

note that if you buy and refund within 24 hours, generally the charges just 'drop off' rather than being refunded, since the original transaction never got approved.

Not sure if I refunded within 24 hrs or not... Strange that it's still "Pending" on my Discover dashboard, I'm pretty sure most purchases go thru within 2-3 days max. Maybe I'm wrong on that.

From what you said, the refund has not been approved or confirmed yet, correct?

Give it another day. If you are still with in the 14 days, then cancel and start another refund request. Sometimes tickets get "stuck".

If it exceeds 14 days, do not close the ticket. Instead, contact support directly and they will manually deal with it. You need the ticket open as proof that you requested the refund with in the correct time frame.

Thanks for that info.

If you recently switched password or changed payment method that will add 2-3 days to the refund process as a security measurement.

Okay, it just went through.

I guess the new CC was slowing it down.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
