but maybe you set to show only aproved games in the family view and its hiding all your games?
Thanks for responding.
Yeah, I only have two (2) items approved; one (1) game and one (1) piece of software. I only want some items to be accessible.
Does that change everything does it?
So i guess you need to aprove what you like him to see out of these games
dose that make sence? (as in am i clear)
OK, so under my (the parent) Win7 login, I login to my Steam account and I go into...
- Steam (from the File Menu) > Settings > Family > and click on 'Manage Family View'
- Type in PIN (because Family View is already enabled!
- At the top: Family View is currently: Enabled
- Library Content: is set to "Only games I choose"
- Online content & features: only "My online profile, screenshots, and achievements" is checked
- I click next
- Under My Games I select only which I want my son to have access (nothing is changed as have previously marked what I want him to have access to!)
- I click next
- Recovery Email Address: is mine
- I click next
- I set the PIN to what I want it to be
- I click next
- The next page is just the summary page and I can print it if I want.
This, I thought, was all there was to approving games for my son to be able to access. Have I missed some other steps somewhere have I?From here, I log out of my Win7 account, which also logs me out of steam. I then login to Win7 with my son's account and log into his Steam account.
At this point, I cannot remember what I have done previously, but Family View is enabled and my son cannot see any of my library.
I wasn't sure if it was needed, but in case it was, I have also enabled "Family Library Sharing" under Family in Steam Settings. So the checkbox next to "Authorize Library Sharing on this computer" is checked, as is my son's account under "Eligible Accounts" and so is "Show notifications when shared libraries become available again".
It appears to me that Family View overrides Family Library Sharing !? Is that right or have I messed up somewhere ??
Because as soon as I enter the parent's PIN and disable Family View, my shared library shows itself to my son and he can start up the games I have checked / approved as per above.
Thanks for bearing with me Black Blade.
Kind regards,
Dodgy bob
