Cant activate product on origin

I bought jedi fallen order in april and finally got around to playing it today. Upon launching it through steam iy opens origin and tells me i need to activate the 'unrecognized game' on origin with a CD key. This i am unable to do since i can't get the key from steam?
If i go to steam help it just says contact EA because its their game and when i speak to EA they say talk to steam because its their key. Any ideas?

Go back to EA as the person you talked to doesn’t understand how the system works. They’re all EA keys no matter where you buy them from.

Go to your library and find the game on the left menu. Right click and there may be an option for DLC (may have changed since the UI change) or right click on "properties" as there may be a DLC option under that. It should contain your cd-key there.

I haven't dealt with such an issue in a very long time, but this is where it used to be located.

Yeh i tried that but seems to be thay steam has removed the keys from being visable? So i can see i have one but i cant see what it is.

Just tried to get and refund and was denied :/

Have you tried opening origin separately and ensured it's updated to the latest version and the tried running the game again?
