[Officially Fixed] Steam Update Broke Nearly All Games
It looks like it's an issue after the Steam update but it's pretty big issue because every account is affected from this.. So Steam need to be careful next time before the updating the client!

Update: It seems only "all Bethesda games" are affected from this "big issue"!

Update 2: No it's not related Bethesda games unfortunately :(

Fix: Click to Steam > Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache

After that login your steam account and it'll back to normal :)

They are officially fixed the issue:

From what I can tell you can launch games with this issue that are installed by going to where the game is installed (Right Click > Manage > Browse Local Files) and running the executable there. (Sorry if someone has already posted this)

EDIT: It seems this will only allow some games to start while others will redirect you to the steam store.

If the game doesn't incorporate any DRM then this'll work just fine, otherwise you'll run into a Steam-based "application load error".

Tried that didn't work. It acted like it wanted to start then right back to the purchase page

Just noticed that when I tried running certain games. My bad!

Really annoying - have they said anything about fixing it?
Extremely doubtful seeing as they're likely all at home, clocked off.

Yeah, that's not likely to work as this is clearly an issue where it's tripping up checking the licence keys. So wherever you l;aunch it from its still going to hit this.
The only thing I can say is to NOT LOG OUT OF STEAM if this isn't happening to you. As soon as you log back in , you will be affected.

No it really isn't. They can't be awake or sit there 24/7 and in any case, even if they did man the office at this hour, they STILL couldn't fix server issues as the companies that host the servers will have gone home.

That's how these things work.

It looks like RDR2, and most of bethesda-related games(Fallout, DOOM) are having the problem.
Seems to be anything that is on sale currently. I'm trying to find out if that is the case, or any others are affected.

It does work for a few games. I was able to get Noita, Barotrauma, and Party Hard to start, although steam related features don't seem to work.

This is unlikely to be an issue with Valve's hosting services - the issues are almost certain to be within Valve's own code.

I would expect them to have staff on call to handle these sorts of issues. With that said, I still would not expect a public announcement about the problem unless it becomes apparent that it won't be fixed shortly.

One of the rules of corporate PR is to, where possible, fix problems without ever admitting they occurred in the first place.
