When I download games they get stuck at a certain percentage
For example this game is stuck at 94%.

Tried several things like restarting my computer, checking my antivirus firewall, changing download region, clearing download cache and more.

Does anybody have any experience with this and would like to share how they solved this issue?

Your processor is trying to un-zip the packed data that is being downloaded. It does this to prevent overload, which is common, it happens for me as well. The best way is to just wait for it to be done processing whatever it needs to do

Hm, I left my computer on when I went to sleep and it was not done when I came back in the morning.

There used to be a support page exactly titled that, "Downloads stall at a certain percentage", then they compiles some of the pages into this one.......

You cannot just change the download region to one or two other reginos and give up on that possible fix. You have to try many regions, and try some very far away from you also.

Just because a region is close to you, does not mean that region isn't having problems or the region isn't overloaded with other users also downloading right now. Try more regions.

Change Download Region

The Steam content system is divided into geographical regions. The Steam client automatically detects its current region and uses content servers located in that region for best performance. Sometimes, servers in a specific region may be slow, overloaded or have a hardware failure causing download issues. It is advisable to temporarily switch to a different download region to use another set of content servers.

Steam -> Settings -> Downloads -> Download Region. You may need to test several regions other than your own.

Yeah I saw that page. I tried a few, I also changed to a US one while I live in Europe.

I would still suggest more regions. I have seen cases where a user had to try them all.

If that is fully utilized and found to not be helping, there can still be other causes that are possible. It's just better to start with the more commonly seen fixes before moving on, as I am sure you understand.

Boot your computer into safe mode with networking. It must be "with networking". Try to download again there. Change regions while in safe mode with networking.

If you are using a router or wireless connection or hardware, don't. Bypass all that with an ethernet cable directly from computer to modem while troubleshooting this.
