How do I download my steam community videos?
I recently found out that a bunch of videos I used to have on my YouTube channel (which got deleted) were uploaded to my steam profile and I want to download them so they can be reuploaded. Sadly, I can't figure out how to download them without just recording using an external recorder. Any help would be much appreacited. Thanks.

Those are just embedded videos from YouTube.
They do not work.
What do you mean, "they don't work"?
Like, they're technically removed from YouTube but I can watch them just fine on here so clearly the file exists somewhere and can be accessed somehow.
I just get the message "This video is not available".

P.S.: No need to multipost, you can edit your posts.

Okay well, I can watch them all. The videos might be privated? Let's just pretend you can see them and they work fine and go from there. How would I go about downloading that?

from your temporary files. you still have the data on your computer, and it's drawing from that. the videos don't exist. it has a different message for when they do.

Wait, how is it from a temp file? This is a totally different computer from when I first made these videos and I made them like 4 years ago...Also would I be able to have access to those files?
Shiki's referring to browsers creating temporary files for anything and everything you see when looking at a web page. You look at a YT video and it creates a temporary file (or files depending on how the site does it). If you know where to look, and what to look for, you can pull them out and save for later.

I mean, my main confusion is I don't know why that random temp file would be around for 4 years if I haven't watched the videos since I first added them to my profile. And where would I look at what should I look for because I sure as hell don't know.
I also just checked and I can watch the video fine on my laptop which I've never used with Steam...

bump?

Please guys, if there's a chance I'd love to know. These videos are very important to me.
I can't imagine why the embedded videos still work for you, but if that's the case just use a screen recorder and record them off of the playback.

I think what others have said is true, just temp files. I guess I'll have to just screen record honestly...only issue is that the youtube player leaves things on screen which can be unsightly. Sacrifice I have to make I guess.

you don't know why a temp file would remain on your hd? because you never clean temp files... that doesn't happen automatically, and if you haven't cleaned for 4+ years, you can easily save 30gb+ by cleaning them Lol.

I do though. I clean files like that every few weeks.
