Games minimizing every 3-10 minutes
Help, since few weeks my games are minimizing every 3-10 minutes. This happens in Team Fortress 2, cs:go, Super Meat Boy and osu! and recently it happens more often. However this never happened when I was playing Unturned. I tried everything from this site: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/games-minimizing-to-desktop-window but it didn't helped me.

You should post your full system specs in threads asking for help, please. "Help" in the top of Steam, then "system information", right click, select all, copy and paste it all here.

Also, there might be some software that is now causing issues with the games.

Make sure all device drivers, inclucing but not limited to, GPU are fully up to date.

Go to Lenovo, find your exact computer using the search tools there, then link that page here, please.

I see several brand new, or almost new, device drivers for it here, if my search is now correct.

Are you sure all of those drivers are fully up to date ?

Updated drivers, will reply in 15-30 minutes if games are still minimizing

Verywell, thanks. Just keep in mind that there still may be other things that are causing it.

Also, did you upgrade that laptop to Windows 10 from a previously installed OS ?

Next, I would suggest you look at possible conflicting software covered in one of my links. If it is third party , and runs in the background, it may cause issues with Steam, depending on what it is and what it is doing.

This is not a hardware issue it's a software issue. Updating the drivers is (almost but sometimes not) always a good thing to do. Updating drivers isn't going to help this problem at all. The cause is a program (software) running in the background doing something causing the game to minimize. This happened to me and it ended up being windows 10 notifications, the ridiculous warnings and suggestions that pop up in the very far lower right corner of the screen in the task bar.

They were randomly throwing me out of games onto my desktop and arriving on my desktop there's nothing on the screen that's new at all when it happens it just looks like the game is screwing up. If you have notifications which will show up inside the icon as a number, kill them all.
Be gentle and use the X to close and ignore them instead of your fist or a hammer.

It could also be a program (software, again) running in the background. Kaspersky, Avast, and Microsoft Edge have been reported to do this.

This is a hardware issue. Updating the drivers isn't going to correct it.

I did mention possible software conflicts, and I usually like to just make sure the drivers are up to date before going forward. Sort of a methodology I normally use here, just in case. But I agree, it's probably a software conflict, and I was going into that with more detail next.

It's probably the noticifations unless there's other software running in the background. I saw you mentioned that. Like an annoying CSR agent going through scripts making a 2 minute fix a 3 hour conversation. You're taking the entire car apart to change a fuse.

Turn the notifications off, Dawidluna.

Do you have a background application that could be opening a popup window at random?
Dawidluna Sep 30, 2018 @ 10:39am
So I updated the drivers and disabled Avast silent mode because I heard that it can also cause some problems. And after 40 minutes of gameplay everything is working fine. Thanks for help

i had this problem it was a rouge task from task scheduler that was set to pop up every 10 minutes if your problem is a small command prompt popping up and taking you out of full screen then this fix will help https://appuals.com/fix-command-prompt-keep-popping-up-on-windows-10/ this site says it can be and office task but mine was a Firefox task so if its not Microsoft office just go through each task and you should find one that says to activate every 10 mins delete that task hope this helps someone
