Steam wont go online even if I have internet connection

Hi Steam support. I would like to ask for your help because I have an internet connection and suddenly my steam account wont go online. so I tried different ways to fix it but i cant. i logged out but when signing in, i cannot open my account already.. it says here that steam cannot connect with steam servers.. what does that mean and how to fix it?

First off, this isn't steam support. This is the USERS' discussions. The only way to contact steam support is via their support ticket system.

However, we can help, as that's what this is for.

We need to know more details from you. When you say you've tried different ways to fix it - what have you tried? Please explain EXACTLY, and what if anything, happened.

Then are you connecting via wifi, or cable? If possible change to cable. Does anything else download ok on your PC?

I doubt that this is the issue you're getting but you could try this before reporting back with more details:

Press Windows Key + R to bring up "Run"
Type "cmd" (without quotes) and hit enter to bring up "Command Prompt"
First, type "ipconfig /release" (without quotes) and hit enter.
Second, type "ipconfig /renew" (without quotes) and hit enter
Lastly, type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without quotes) and hit enter
