Hi So is this trade safe?
This guy is lvl 24 and looked at his profile and saw comments such as "legit trader" "good trader". But he wants me to trade the knife to him first than send me 470 dollars in PayPal. The trade is over a Karambit Tiger Tooth. Should I do it?

NO. That is 100% a scam. NEVER trade outside the Steam trading system.
There is no way to get real money outside of Steam for a trade. Its 100% a scam.
He will have the item, you will have nothing. And Steam will not help you since you "gifted" him the item.
DO NOT ACCEPT THIS TRADE.

Stop being greedy. Sell your item on the market for Steam Wallet money, that is the way its supposed to work.

No one is giving you real money for a virtual item.

By going seperately you will be *gifting*, not *trading*.

You have ZERO recourse when this deal fails … and it will fail.

Dude. NO. You wont get any real money outside of Steam for a virtual item. STOP BEING GREEDY.
Follow the Steam trading guidelines. Trade item vs item in ONE trade window OR sell your item on the market for wallet money. NOTHING ELSE.

Him sending you the money first changes nothing. He sends the money, you send the item, then he orders a chargeback with PayPal and gets his money back. He has 6 weeks to do that.
Steam will not help you since you traded outside the system and PayPal will not help you since they dont insure virtual items in transactions.

If you dont believe all the users here that from years of experience all know that you are about to be scammed, then please. Go right ahead. Some people need to learn the hard way.

Your right I am not going to do this. thx For kicking some sense into me guys
Trading Steam items for real-world money is against Steam rules. You risk not only losing your items or your money, but your account as well.

You do realize that those replies on comments can be faked right ?

Even from his very own alt accounts. How you users fall for this stuff is beyond me.

Google "OPSkins scams" or use the forum search here. See for yourself.

Opskins and similar sites are not condoned by Steam and you are risking your account if you sell items there for money outside of Steam.
Please, just follow the rules you agreed to when making your account.

DONT DO THAT. You are breaking the rules. Again. Its not allowed to accuse other users and then post their profiles on the forums. That is called "naming & shaming" and will just get YOU into trouble.

Why can you not just sell your item(s) on the Steam market? That is the much better (and smarter) option. If you use such sites, you will encounter the same risks because you would not be trading within Steam's window.

If you want to sell it that badly, put it for sale on the market, as suggested to you in post #3 by Ogami.
