Cant Use 2 Ram Sticks
I have 2 ram sticks of 8gb they are exactly the same, my motherboard supports up to 16gb ddr3
When i put 1 stick it works when i put 2 (in the 1rd slot and 3rd slot) it enters a restart loop. But when i put 1 stick in the 3rd slot it enters a restart loop as well (same happens with the 2rd and 4rd slot) I dont understand what the problem is.....

Try one stick at a time and see if it still does it. If it does, try them in a diffrent RAM slot. It could be a bad stick of RAM or a slot on the motherboard going out.

Also, that type/brand of RAM and model number?
What motherboard?

My old Dell XPS 8100 that came with i5 650 that I recently upgraded to i7 870 has 4 slots that can take maximum of 4 GB DDR3 1333 RAM "each" (16 GB total). I recently upgraded to that from 8 GB 1066 (4 x 2 GB) during the CPU upgrade. I don't know what would happen if I tried to use 8 GB RAM sticks because my computer does not support that.

So even though your motherboard or CPU supports up to 16 GB total (like mine does) does not necessarily mean it supports RAM larger than 4 GB each times 4.

What speeds are the RAM sticks and the voltages? that board has a limitation of 1600mhz even when XMP is used

It also says that
Due to Intel® chipset limitation, this motherboard can only support single-side memories when four modules are installed and they will run at the maximum transfer rate of DDR3 1066 MHz.

It also says that when using 2 RAM sticks, slots 2 and 4 should be used

From what im seeing, if that RAM is double sided, it will only support RAM in the A2 and B2 slots which i mentioned above.

So i should try putting them in the 2rd and 4rd slot?

I think we need a better motherboard model number. This is all I get by googling.

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/H81M2/specifications/

That motherboard only has two memory slots.

Try RAM in Slot 2 and other in Slot 4. Thats how you are supposed to put them in with most motherboards.

kk

well if that in the end doesnt work, it should though, then it could be an issue with the RAM, maybe not qualified for that board or something.

and you never said what speed the RAM is and the voltage it uses, so thats something to reply on when you work on it again

or you tried plugging in a ram stick why you had power on the board = fried ram stick = buy new ram and two stcks that match

and make sure your PC = unplugged from any power when you install it

as yes popping in a ram stick in a motherboard and it has power on .. can fry the stick

not every motrher board supprts all mem sticks .. always go crucial ram if your unsure what your motherboard supports

never mix different timeings and voltage ram
