Steam downloads stuck on "0 bytes / 0 bytes" (mac)

So basically I've been having this problem for a couple of weeks now. Whenever I try to download a game, it initially gets stuck on "preparing ____ files for install." Then after that times out, the download gets stuck on 0 bytes out of 0 bytes. Here is a list of things I have tried:

• Restarting my computer
  
• Changing the download region
  
• Clearing the download cache
  
• Reinstalling steam

I've tried for many hours researching this topic and I can't find anything that works. Any help is much appreciated.

Same here, When i use enternet connection i download 0 kb to 500 and back to 0, Idk why and when i use wifi connection i download at 500 kb to 1 mb. Wtf? And my internet is comcast, I get 80 mb download speed. Wth is wrong with steam download servers?

Lit my peak is 72MBps but it drops to 0bps in 1sec and gets stuck, I tried everything and nothing :/
