I don't use any programs from this list...........
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289
So I know nothing about Kaspersky. All I know is, I have seen several users here just today alone that have Kaspersky and new Steam issues.
What about the rest of what I asked you previously, please ? Please read back over my comments and post the rest of the information that was requested. Thanks.
1. http://darthxasthur.imgur.com/
SHould be everything. Hope I did it right. Hope its not a slideshow.
2. Child Processes? Still have no idea on that one
3. Again, if you have a suggestion for Compadibility mode settings im all ears.
I hope i addressed everything. Sry it takes me so long to post.
Now, that was not all that was requested, as far as I can see, but I already see another problem.
Webroot
That is probably also conflicting with Kaspersky and Kaspersky Secure Connection.
There is a Webroot program on the list here...not specifically that one necessarily but still......it is Webroot.
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289
I will continue looking over the list. But I think you missed posting the images from the services tab. See the services tab on top there, next to "details" in msconfig ?
We need to see all those also, please.
Need to also know you have real-time scan exceptions in Kaspersky Antivirus as we have covered so far. I don't think you ever confirmed this.
What are you going to do about Kaspersky Secure Connection ?
EDIT.....
What is that BrcmSetSecurity process for ? Under "Background Processes (65)" Seems to be related to Intel Widi
Was this an upgrade from Windows 8 or 8.1 to Windows 10 ? Or did you do a fresh and clean install of Windows 10 after a format as you normally would ?
http://www.solvusoft.com/en/files/error-virus-removal/exe/windows/intel-corporation/intel-widi/brcmsetsecurity-exe/
Kaspersky Secure Connection seems to have more than just one process going also. Those should be looked at very carefully.
You have quite alot of process there going as you are trying to game. You don't need many of those, and some of them are just wasting system resources as you are trying to game. And some may be confilicting with Steam and/or games or actually related to this problem you are having.
I removed webroot a whie ago, at least i thought i did. When i go to uninstall programs i dont find anything that says webroot.
As you see in pictures many of the things nect to kapersky say stopped, I assume that means windows is preventing it from launching?
WOW, PC gaming is overwhelming. I just read through SOME of what that link had. So much to keep track of, so much to know. Ive been trying to fix this for 13 hours now and no luck. Dont know how you guys do it
EDIT: after seeing your edit lol. Tell me what you think is bad and ill turn it off. I did upgrade from 8-10 and dont think i did it from scratch. Not too sure though.
So how do i stop these things from running?
The problem with simply disabling some processes is that they may have other processes that are not disabled if you disable the parent. This is what I mean here where I have said "child and parent".
I will try to explain....
Norton is an antivirus on the list you were linked, just as an example. Norton also may have a child process that is Norton Online Backup. This child is not necessarily disabled if the parent Norton Antivirus IS disabled, and that child can still conflict with Steam.
In this example, Norton Online Backup is even left over after Norton is fully uninstalled by using Windows to remove it, depending on what version of Norton we are talking about.
All I can suggest is that you try disabling processes one at a time or in batches, then verify the game files for all games you are going to test after doing so.
You MUST...I repeat...MUST verify the games files every time you try to disable something before playing them. Otherwise, you will not know if what you disabled did in fact solve the issue.

I cannot guarantee that it is a software conflict that you have that is causing this. But I highly suspect it is. You have a huge number of processes going at the same time there. You don't need many of them when you game anyway.
EDIT..Some of them, you don't need whatsoever. You just have to be very careful what you do in fact disable. Nothing Intel, Windows, Microsoft, etc...official programs and processes.
EDIT 2. I did miss the msconfig shots. Please forgive me. See the Kaspersky processes there in those shots ? Some/one are children of Kaspersky Antivirus or Kaspersky Secure Connection. (look under "manufacturer" there in the column)
STILL NOT WORKING!?!?!?! ARGGGG
This is driving me crazy. im going to have to stop for the night and pick up tomorrow. What a bunch a ♥♥♥♥. All to play the most basic games. Its too bad point and clicks are my favorite, becuse this is what its largely effecting.
From what im understanding i should turn off everything one at a time, testing the game and verifying its files every time? Right?
Also, i now totally understand what you mean about parent programs. Thank you very much for the info. Always good to learn somthing new.
If you literally mean you did that, now you have to reinstall all device drivers too. You should not have done that.
Run Windows update and get all drivers back up to date. I personally hate this about Windows 10, but apparently that is how it works now in that OS.
You are welcome. I prefer to not leave an issue unsolved from trying to help users, so I am sorry I was not able to help so far. But of course I understand coming back to this and getting a fresh look at it later.
Ive had other people suggest other things like, DOSBox trouble shoot and trying diffret compadibility modes.
Tying diffrent things today hasnt really helped at all. I will continue shutting off diffrent boot applications, etc and post back if i make headway.
Also it appears the black mirror games also wont work
Can you press ALT and ENTER at the same time when you start DOSBox? That should put it in windowed mode right before in crashes. Take a picture of what it looks like when it crashes. DOSBox has a status window that should give at least some clue as to why it's crashing.
Arx Fatalis:
This game is buggy anyways on modern operating systems. You should be using Arx-Liberatis to play the game, which is a source port made to support newer computers. http://wiki.arx-libertatis.org/Download
Return to Castle Wolfenstein:
Get the 1.42d patch for the game by Knightmare. RTCW has a lot of weird compatiblity bugs without it, and I personally had a rought time getting the game to start before I used this. http://www.markshan.com/knightmare/

I've not played Blood: one unit whole blood, Gabriel Knight, Hexen: beyond...., Hexen: shadow of...., Hexen: II, Heretic, Wolfenstein, Wolfe stein 3D, Wolfenstein Spear of destiny, or Arx Fatalis so I can't help you much more than that. On the other hand, the Lucasarts games from steam don't run on DOSBox, so you have me confused.

So i cannot get it into windowed mode when i try, The three latter images are what i see.
I will try your other suggestions and let you know what happens.
How do i update the version of dosbox found in each game folder?
So, how do i recognize the correct file? I took a pic if you could identify for me.
http://imgur.com/a/Jis6L
Now to about the lucasarts games, its a diffrent problem. Maybe. All i know is they were working fine for the longest time and then suddenly they will not work in full screen mode. Windowed, it works fine but not in full screen. Maybe another thing i have to modify in the config file? IDK, NOT good at all with this sort of thing,
I feel like some change was made to my PC thats preventing me from playing several games. I was hoping that i would be able to change one thing (system restore?) and get back to everything working.
I don't know how familar you are with DOSBox. The way that steam has set it up, they have a dosbox.exe for every game. I'd first try and change the config files and then try to update. If you update it is possible to run it through the new dosbox, but you need to know what you are doing. Otherwise you would have to add the new dosbox to each games folder.
Anyway, try this first.
Look for the [<Game>.conf] file in C:Program Files (x86)>Steam>SteamApps>common>Game Name>(config file should be somewhere in this folder)
Open it up with notepad and change the output=overlay (If that one doesn't work opengl or openglnb should, it depends on your computer)
I'd also change the screen resolution, as that might be causing the error.
This would be changing fullscreen=true, fulldouble=true, and fullresolution=[your screen's resolution]
Eg. fullresolution=1366x768 (When I first got the game it was running super wide and some of the game was cut off) If that doesn't get the game working and you don't mind try changing it to a windowed mode by fullscreen=false.
Save the file and it is ready to go.
For the Lucasarts games I'd try scummvm. I see you have it and it should run them much better.
The closest thing are ones that end with .ini? Is that right?
Even still I cannot find a file that already has what your referring to. Nothing that I see says anything about
output=overlay
Full screen=true
Full double=true
http://imgur.com/a/5D2fP
I'm going to keep looking because at this point, what else can ya do?
I know what your talking about but I've never had this much trouble finding the correct file!
I'm looking through the files for the first Gabrial Knight game, as well as the space quest collection. Havnt found anything that I can modify yet.
Also looks like the version of DosBox given to me by steam is the new one, I think. It says version .74 when I just open DosBox. No crashing or anything that time.
Monkey madness' fix worked for blood. All I needed to do was change
Output=overlay
to
Output=OpenGL
I didn't mess with resolution. This was all that needs to be done. Now that I have found a config file in this game why do I not see any for Gabriel Knight, the space quest series, etc. ?
Where the hell is it?!?!
