Product Key Age of Empires III
Hello,
I've got the original CD of Age of Empires III with the product key inside of it.
But when I put the key on steam, it doesn't work...
Someone could help me please ?!

You can't use that key to activate game on Steam.

Because that isn't the type of key that can be activated on steam.

Yeah, CD keys are keys used for individual games' systems to check that you're not using a dodgy disc. It has NOTHING to do with Steam's systems.

You're effectively trying to use a barcode from an auto parts store in a supermarket and wondering why it won't scan.

Publishers CAN add their CD keys into the Steam database, but that was only done in a select few cases (which might be a good thing, considering that publishers have not coordinated their key generation among each other and with Steam, allowing for possible conflicts).

So, virtually all games that got released before/outside of Steam with CD keys cannot be activated on Steam.
