Recently unable to add items to any new collections. "Unknown failure" error message.
Recently I can not add items, from their workshop page, to any new collections I create for different games. Back in June, two Cities Skylines collections were created and those accept items. No issues there :).
Now, whenever attempting to add item will prompt this error message,

" There was a problem adding this item to the following collections: [collection name] - unknown failure ".

Troubleshooting :
Tried signing out completely, restarting PC. Created collections from Chrome, Firefox and Steam client. Each new collection = same error msg. Tried a different game, Banished. Same result for new collections.

??? : While creating or editing a collection, I can add/remove items. But the restrictions creates a long process to sort mods/assets.

Has anyone been having this problem as well? Thanks for reading! :)

I have the same issue since a few days now. I cannot add any Space Engineers blueprints to my collections with the same error message than you.

I tried the same things, even changing Steam language back to English or opening the Workshop in Chrome instead of Steam app, but nothing helped.

Yes, I noticed issue as well on the Civ 5 workshop both yesterday and today. Makes it very inconvenient to buildup my new collections.

How has this not been fixed yet?

Same issue, seems like a problem on steam's end. Goes for any game.

There is a work around, you need to subscribe to the addon you wish to add to a collection then edit your workshop and add it via subscribed addons.

Whether subscribed or not, issue still exists for me :( . But good to know that for others they were successful. Thanks for the info :)

Because there are two threads on this topic, I'll post here as well...

I am having the same issue; reported it to Steam Support eight days ago. The reply today was "I do not have a fix for you at this time."

-- I play Cities Skylines with almost 100 mods and 3000 assets and, I'm having no problems opening, saving or playing the game. I am careful to watch for conflicts between mods and to keep subscribed assets up to date.
-- I can add and remove assets and mods from previously created Collections without a problem.
-- I can create new Collections with no problem.
-- I can add an asset from the dropdown list of Favourites or subscribed items WHILE creating a Collection (NRG-JAkeZ's "workaround")

But I can no longer add an asset (ANY asset) to a new Collection after I've created it.

Clearly a Steam issue that they can't or won't address.

I'm sure that Steam will be in denial and blamin it on us and... the internet connection. I have reported this problem, but i also had reported a similar problem problem weeks ago... they just don't see any problem on their side.

That workaround suggested above is not an option at all... especially that first one needs to download that asset (while i want to keep it as a wishlist for another time), secondly - even if downloaded - Steam cuts out that list of subscribed assets so anything beyond random letter of the alphabet (as they are in alphabetical order) doesn't show up (it's possibly number of assets) which has also been reported few days ago.

Please... just flood them with your reports on that... maybe they will notice something is not right and will stop blaming it on your imagination (isn't it called gaslighting?).

Thank you
