You want Google and the mouse's website.

You have to remember that handheld devices of all sorts are chosen to be an average that suits the WHOLE population of the world. Obviously you CANNOT possibly do that realistically, so you have a kind of compromise.
So you are going to get issues like this, where you can get cramped feeling or worse. Simple solution - return the mouse and get a new one.
I'm disabled and I've had to mess around with custom controllers over the years, and buy devices so I can use non-standard controllers on another system (like PS3 or Gamecube controllers on and Xbox).
Simple reason being that I also have smaller hands - original "Duke" Xbox controllers I find horrible to use - I end up getting pains across the back of both hands due to the larger grip. On the other hands using a Wii U pad for FPSes will often make my little fingers go completely numb and useless. I get similar from Dreamcast controllers, so it has something to do with holding the hand more at an angle.
If you find this sort of thing common on mice, then you really should look into some of the mice that have adaptable bodies and you can physically change their size. Or try a different approach.
I can't stand regular mice as again, I get the old numb fingers problem. So I've used Logitech Marble Mice for years. They don't physically move, they're a trackball.
