Possession mechanics?
Anyone have any suggestions for games with possession mechanics? For an example from Gamecube, Geist was great, at least until your character became unhealthily obsessed (IMO) with possessing his original body.
I do have a couple that I haven't played yet but own: Messiah, via GOG, and Murdered: Soul Suspect via Steam. As I haven't played them yet, I can't say for certain how well they'll mesh with what I'm wishing for.
Any other suggestions?

I quite enjoyed Murdered: Soul Suspect.

I don't know the Geist game so I have no idea what you're expecting, but I can think of two games that at least have some kind of possession:

a) "Enemy Mind". This is basically a sidescrolling space shooter thingy, except that you're nabbing enemy ships to make your way through the game

b) "Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken" eventually (you don't start with this ability) gives Hardboiled a special grenade type that lets him take over enemies.

There is also Cliver Barker's Jericho where the protagonist has died (or something) but instead you possess your team mates and can switch between them as a way of switching weapons/abilities based on the enemies you are facing.

Edit: Also FEAR3 - you can play as the same guy you play through 1-2, but in 3 you also have the option of playing the bad guy from 2 (I think?) whose main ability is to possess enemies.

Dishonored has some Possession abilities. Though I'm not sure they're in the vein you're looking for.

Always fun to stop time, then posses a guard and walk him or her in the path of their own bullet.

Verdict: Suicide
