Getting Steam working with a rather unique Microsoft Store title...

Okay so I'm trying to get Steam working with Phantasy Star Online 2 on the Microsoft Store.
I tried the UWP Hook thing but I'm guessing since this game uses a Launcher, that's why it's not working.
I REALLY don't wanna go back to DS4Windows after using Steam Input for 5 years.
Does anyone have a trick for this or somethin?

Maybe you could "add" the game to steam.
If you click "Add a non steam game" and locate the game, you might be able to skip the launcher.

That's not possible. UWP apps have crazy protection and you can't even touch the folder

edit: also being able to view a folder doesn't mean you can touch it imo. You can take ownership till the cows come how but you still can't edit anything in the folders. I went through that with Kodi last year

If PSO has .exe files it's not UWP, it's Win32. UWP apps don't use .exe files.

You can test yourself by opening the game settings and checking if it has a full screen mode. Full screen is another feature UWP doesn't offer.

Edit: Just downloaded it. it's 100% a Win32 app. Just take ownership of your WinApps folder and add the .exe to steam manually like any other game.

Pso2 uses the ring0 DRM/Anticheat GameGuard. The Steam overlay may be blocked by GameGuard.

Microsoft actually added things to the game like voice chat that may or may not rely on technology provided by Windows 10.
Hell you can't even use DirectX12 and yet you think you should still be supported...

There is literally no possible way to block access to the files inside of a folder on a computer by any program. That is beyond malware level stuff right there.
So, tell me how you cannot physically do anything with the folder itself.

There's no possible way any program would ever be made or run that would block access to files inside the folder, let alone make it impossible to connect it to anything else.

That would be so bad for anyone to do it would be the kiss of Death for the people who made it.
Seriously, it just makes zero sense for that to be a thing.

It is lol. No worries.
It's this weird like permission level thing. Honestly, a tad out of my depth. I just know when I alter the permissions it breaks the app. My guess is a "next gen security technology to help ensure security for developer's and their apps, only on the Microsoft store" type thinking cuz it is a tad overkill, even for the "protect the user from themselves" approach.

Oof. I just tried using the tweaker and adding it as a non-steam game. No luck yet. Controller won't respond at all.
