Community Market Hold
I was recently unable to use the market for 7 days due to a password change, and I am trying to sell a skin, but it won't let me put it up, it is on hold. I have the steam app and use that as an authenticator, but still, it will not let put up this item! I'm still able to buy things, as I just bought a case, but it won't let me sell something

Trades that were on hold when the 7 days was taking place will still have holds. All you can do is wait for those. New trades will not have holds, once the 7 days are up.

Mobile Authenticator Added

A Steam Guard Mobile Authenticator provides additional security for your account. Adding an authenticator does not immediately remove existing restrictions. Trades created within the first 7 days of adding the authenticator will still have up to a 15 day trade hold. This allows your items to still be protected and gives you time to recover your account if a malicious actor were to ever add an authenticator to your account.

If your account was already protected by Steam Guard via email, you will have no new restrictions from using trading or the Community Market. If your account was not protected by Steam Guard via email or mobile app, you will be restricted from using trading and the Community Market for 15 days because Steam Guard has been recently enabled.

EDIT..You don't get 7 days for a password change. You only get 5 days for a password reset, and it's 30 days if no activity on your account has taken place for two months :

Recent Password Reset

If you forget your password and need to reset it (note: this is different than changing your password), you will be restricted from trading and the Community Market for 5 days. If your account has not had any activity for more than two months, these restrictions will apply for 30 days. We do this to help protect users who lose access to their email account.

You can change your password from the settings panel in the Steam Client. This restriction only applies to password resets, ex: done via https://help.steampowered.com or by Steam Support.

There is nothing "random" about it, unless you mean the action that you took to cause your restriction was random.

The page I linked should have all the restrictions, what triggers them, how long they are, and how to avoid them. As well as the fact they cannot be modified, not even by Steam Support.

Hey, so I read about what you said and realized why I couldn't sell anything for 15 days. Today, I sold a skin for 99 cents and it went through, and I was credited the money. But my 2 other items were still on hold from before! Do u know anything about why this is happening, because it seriously makes no sense to me... A glitch?? Idk,,,

The skin that you sold must have been after the 7 days was up. The other 2 items are still on hold probably because those trades were created before the 7 days was up.

If you have been friends with someone on Steam for over a year, then the holds should only be for one day. That is in the trade hold FAQ page.

Does it not say something about the holds for the 2 items that are still in hold ?
Add authenticator, purchase $5+ and then make sure the account is 7+ days old!

$5 is for the limited account restriction. You can't even use the market if your account is limited.

The "account" does not have to be 7 days old. The mobile auth. has to be enabled for 7 days so no new trades will have holds. You can still trade without the mobile auth., but all trades will have holds without it.

I bought a case and key like 3 days ago, while this 7 day limitation was going on, because I had just got the authenticator app. But last night I decided to put up a skin (99 cents) and it sold within 5 minutes, no hold, nothing. I was confused so I put up 2 other skins for sale and they're being held until the 23rd of May. I think I may have just glitched the system, because there really isnt an explanation for this.

Some individual items have holds built in, depending on where and how you've acquired them. They will say per item.

Pretty sure items that are cheap, such as 99 cents will work like that. Someone else can post and correct me if not.

If those other skins are over a certain amount, that is probably it.

EDIT...Also, what the good Zekiran said.
