How to make steam games use more than 8 gb of ram
Just upgraded 16 G of ram, I tested it out on rust and it works just fine. However Mordhau and Team Fortress 2 both only use 8 gb no matter what I do. I would like to run Mordhau on more than 10 fps. Any tips or solutions would be very helpful.

If your PC meets the specs to run a game, then it should be getting more than 10 FPS so the issue is elsewhere, not with the RAM.

Go to help in the top of Steam, then system information. Right click, select all, then copy and paste all of that here, please.

you can't make games use more RAM than they need.

Can you clue us in on your full system specs?

Yep, Mordhau's recommended RAM is 16 GB :

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 10 64 Bit
Processor: Intel Core i5 - 6600k or AMD equivalent
Memory: 16 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD equivalent
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 20 GB available space

So if you have installed 16 GB :

Then you have other issues elsewhere as your have plenty of RAM for that game to run well, but we need the other specs.

Did you also check the BIOS settings once you upgraded the RAM ?

Using more RAM does not make any game run faster. It just makes them run smoother, with less FPS drops due to streaming data from the disk.

If your CPU and/or your videocard is not up to the task, adding more RAM won't change that.

hmm could it be enter bios and save so system actual make the correction's, not sure system have access if not save with change bios but cancel it, could that lead to ½ access if that is even possible. ( and thanks to The Giving One point it out with check. )

TF2 is never going to use 16GB. It will barely use more than 1 or 2GB. And just because Mordhau recommends 16GB of RAM doesn't mean it's going to use all 16GB of it. You still have the OS, drivers, applications, launchers, etc that are also needing a portion of the RAM. Some of the 16GB is always reserved for the OS. Rust is probably the only game of the three that you mentioned that will typically use a major portion of the 16GB of RAM. Also remember than the OS creates a cache on your drive that acts as virtual RAM to move less used or unneeded data in and out of RAM. So even if you only had 8GB, it will still run but with worse performance.

If you're only getting 10fps, there is something else wrong than adding RAM will correct.

Mordhau's minimum specs from the store page :

MINIMUM:
Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 7 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 10 64 Bit
Processor: Intel Core i5 - 4670 or AMD equivalent
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 680 or AMD equivalent
DirectX: Version 11
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 20 GB available space

You are right above the minimum for the CPU so that seems fine :

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-8750H-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4670/m470418vsm630

And your GPU actually is at the recommended spec, as the store page says the recommended is a 1060 also, even though your's is the mobile one, of course (Max Q)

And I see you do have 16 GB installed, according to your post of the specs.

So you should be able to play Mordhau at least at a decent framerate, so something else is wrong.

-- Do you have all system drivers up to date ?

-- Did you check the BIOS settings after installing more RAM or not ?

-- What other games are giving you problems like this ? If you see this with many, many games, there might be a software issue and it's not hardware at all :

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289

-- Finally, this is a laptop, so how is the heat in there ? The CPU might be throttling on you if there is too much heat.

Games can only use the hardware they're optimized for, as such, many games can't even utilize more than 20% of my i9-10900X, you definitely won't get games that only run on 2GB RAM to utilize 16GB RAM, and any unofficial attempts to do so would not increase performance.
