My friend might have been scammed.

Hey anyone.
Recently, one of my steam friends sent me a message about a false report. It seems most definitely a scam. He recommended I contact a valve employee (verified on steam) on discord (not verified) and he has made multiple contradictions in his statements. Plus his acc was offline the entire time we talked.

I just want to make sure he has control over his account and if there was any way to get it back to him. I think he may have lost a lot of his TF2 items to a scam.

Edit: Thank you all for your help. I just hope the guy isn't screwed. I reported his acc and got blocked by presumably the scammer. Good luck SomeWade

No. If AND ONLY IF you know them in REAL LIFE meatspace, contact them personally - not on discord, not on steam, in some other way, and inform them.

Otherwise, your friend's account is long gone. Report it and any associated - any that they tell you to 'go to for help', because they are also the scammer.

if your friend gets their account back, good luck, but... only if you know them personally should you try and do anythign more than report.
